About Internship
NCTP is a group private practice founded by Mary Ann Sokolowski, LPC. We believe in the value of all people, and proudly serve Nashvillians of ALL cultural and racial backgrounds, countries of origin, sexual orientations, gender identifications, bodies, abilities, religions, and political affiliations. Simply put: we work with all humans.
We value our internship program because we truly believe all people, regardless of socioeconomic status, should be able to access quality care. Our interns see individuals, families, and couples on a sliding scale basis. They also facilitate/co-facilitate groups.
Expectations
During practicum (internship 1) students will provide approximately 10 hours of direct service per week. During internship (internship 2/3) students will provide approximately 15 hours of direct service per week. Placements are a minimum of 2 consecutive semesters.
Interns will be expected to have some weekend and evening availability. All students will receive a minimum of 1 hour of triadic supervision weekly with the clinical director, group supervision approximately once per month, and participate in staff meetings. Students will have the opportunity to shadow licensed clinicians and receive live supervision.
Onboarding will begin about 1 month before your official start date and includes trainings such as TFCBT, suicide risk assessment, inclusive intake practices, HIPPA, telehealth, and eHR.
Additional trainings are available based upon need and interest. Additional duties will be explained thoroughly during the onboarding process.
